GETTING TO OKTOBERFEST

Canberra to Oktoberfest Parklands:

GO FOR A STROLL

Warm up your legs and walk to Oktoberfest Parklands. Patrick White Lawns in Parkes is a 35-minute walk from the City Bus Station which is connected to all major bus routes in Canberra. Close hotels to walk from, if you are looking for accommodation, can be found here.

CATCH THE BUS

Catching the bus is a cheap and easy way to get to Oktoberfest Parklands. You can hitch a ride with any Transport Canberra Blue Rapid 300 service from any major bus station with services departing every 15 minutes to the City Bus Station. From the City Bus Station, Buses 934, 935 and 938 will take you to King Edward Tce National Library (10-minute trip). From there it is just 4-minute walk to the entrance of Oktoberfest Parklands

BOOK A TAXI, RIDESHARE OR A MATE

You can utilise a rideshare app or the extensive taxi network of Canberra to get to Patrick White Lawns. Please be aware of surcharges during peak periods as they can boost the bill quite a bit. If you’ve been able to convince a mate to drop you off then even better! You will be able to get dropped on Parkes Place West, right out the front of the entrance.

DRIVE & PARK

Driving is fine as long as you are staying under the limit during the day. There is plenty of parking around Parkes Langton Street as well as the National Library which is all free-of-charge on Saturdays.

RIDE A BIKE

Save the planet and ride your two-wheeler in Oktoberfest kit to the Parklands, but don’t expect to ride home if you’ve had a few brews (drunk riding is as illegal as drunk driving and you can get into a serious pickle). Bikes can use the footbridges as they are a shared path.

FROM QUEANBEYAN

Oktoberfest Parklands is the perfect day out if you’re a Queanbeyan local. Bus 830 runs from Queanbeyan to Canberra City Interchange. From there you can take any of the bus routes mentioned above from City Bus Station to Oktoberfest. Once you’re done celebrating it’s a short taxi or uber drive back home. For how to get to Oktoberfest from Yass, Goulburn and Cooma, click here.
